This book was billed as a similar style to Dennis Lehane’s writing, and honestly, I was disappointed that I didn’t find it so. The book tells the story of a down-on-his luck lawyer who happens to come across a potentially lucrative (and dangerous/suspenseful) client and situation. The premise was great–but the execution of the story dragged on with too much focus on the details that didn’t help the story along.
This book would have been much stronger with a thicker conspiracy plot. Overall, I considered not even finishing the book–but figured by that point I was far enough along that I should…ah, better luck with my pick next time.
